We came, we saw, we conquered—and had a nail manicure with a side cuppa along the way, too. Nestled right amidst the city’s shopping centre hubbub at Dhoby Ghaut’s Visual Arts Centre, Chanel’s Coco Café offers a secluded haven where beauty junkies can sip mean cups of joe right after swatching the new Rouge Coco Gloss line. Our sunny isle is the fourth city after Toronto, Seoul and Tokyo to be graced with this concept. Hot off the press preview, here’s a rundown of the things we did on our visit to #COCOCAFE.

2.01pm: Hastily pushing the glass door to get in, because it’s hot hot hot outside and we don’t really want to be all sweat-drenched for our mandatory #OOTDs. Hell no.

2.03pm: We snap a storm out of the cute neon Chanel Coco Café logo and its equally cute pink pantry. And out of the corner of our eyes, we spot a whole lot of potential Insta-worthy spots. Giddily excited.

2.08pm: Don’t mind if we do. We help ourselves to a refreshing bottle of bubble tea inspired by Chanel’s Hydra Beauty line as we browse through the new Rouge Coco Gloss line. We’re digging the limited edition Rouge Coco Gloss Caresse with its half-pink-half-mousse shine, and the ultra sultry Décadent with its bold wine purple depth. Not sure what to pick from the smorgasbord of choices? Be sure to grab a beauty advisor for tips and tricks on maximising your glossy look.

2.19pm: So much sweet treats are scattered around the café—lip pops! cakes! tarts!—we honestly don’t know where to start. FYI, with any purchase made at the pop-up, you’ll receive a complementary slice of cake or a tart to dine in or takeaway. Now that takes the cake, literally!

2.20pm: Okay, this dark chocolate berry cake is quite the temptress. Is she worth the extra calories?

2.21pm: No? Yes? No? Yes, yes she is.

2.22pm: We slide into our plush booth and inhale our creamy loot. Mm, mm, mmmmm. It’s absolutely worth it!

2.24pm: Two minutes later, we put down our forks down and—ooh! Won’t this corner look just amaze-balls for a flat lay?

2.38pm: 23481++ flat lay pics later, we head over to see what the racket is all about near the entrance.

2.39pm: Located the source. It’s Tabitha Nauser getting a lip makeover (not that she needs it!)

2.40pm: We get a glimpse of the Cruise 2017’s Les Indispensables De L’éte makeup collection before everyone else can get it in May. Can we bring back all of these? Pretty please?

2.53pm: Huddling into the photo booth, we put on our best poses. These digi-stickers are everything. We want to go crazy and sprinkle our photo with a confection of them, but isn’t Chanel all about simplicity and timelessness? So we restrain our inner 5-year-olds and decide that two will be enough. Très chic…

3.01pm: In need of our afternoon caffeine injection?? A cup of cafe mocha sounds terrific.

3.03pm: — And it tastes terrific too! Plus, this Chanel logo-printed coffee cup is such a darling it deserves an Instagram post of its own. Be sure to hashtag #COCOCAFE, #ILOVECOCO and #CHANELMAKEUP.

3.06pm: We saved the best for the last: here we come, nail bar (a.k.a. complimentary manicure)!

3.28pm: With perfectly polished nails—in Chanel’s latest maroon Le Vernis hue—we gleefully make our exit, ready to face whatever the rest of the day may challenge us with. Because, hey, we just spent 87 minutes in Coco Café’s Chanel beauty heaven. Nothing can possibly ruin the day after that.

Online RSVP slots are fully reserved, but walk-ins are welcome.
Coco Café is open from 8 to 16 April 2017, 11am to 8pm daily at the Visual Arts Centre (which is right above Dhoby Ghaut MRT), #01-02 Dhoby Ghaut Green, 10 Penang Road, Singapore 238469.
