Esteemed Italian maison Bottega Veneta has unveiled its Cruise 2013 collection, with a pastel colour palette inspired by the frescoes of Veronese and Tiepolo adorning the Palladian villas in Veneto. This was a natural choice for the luxury fashion house, which was founded in the province’s capital Vicenza in 1966.
Creative Director Tomas Maier’s vision for the collection is street-smart versatility; designing a wide range of preppy sportswear, casual and formal looks to suit any occasion. Key characteristics of the collection are a monochromatic colour scheme, mixed media and contrasting prints with textures.
From the men’s collection, you could pick and choose between smart or casual wear ranging from trench coats, biker jackets to the essential sports jacket. The suit fanatic in me is deeply drawn to an ultra-sharp charcoal double breasted blazer while the house’s take on the classic varsity jacket conveys a cool and laid back vibe with the metallic military clasps securing the jacket in place of buttons.
All in all, the collection breathes a a form of relaxed chic with the refined fashion staples for the high-flyer on holiday.
