Walking into an On Pedder boutique always has that effect of reducing me to feeling like a child in the candy store. Everything glitters, everything beckons, and I want them all! I can all but restrain myself from grabbing stilettos, pumps, loafers, platforms, wedges, left, right, and centre; whatever catches my fancy and trying them on. But I compose myself, quicken my steps a little, and pick up a pair that stands out amidst the myriad glittering treasures. There. So much classier.
With the array of shoes available, choosing a pair (or five), has, and always will be a dilemma. Picking them out is an emotional experience. No matter the trends, or ‘It’ shoe of the moment, it has to catch your eye, stay in your mind, and fit like a glove. It’s kind of like re-uniting with your glass slipper, each and every time…
The updated Granny boots from Alexander McQueen and McQ, Art Deco-inspired pumps from Charlotte Olympia that reference the surrealist movement, and I’ll bet Alexander Wang’s brand of clean, unfussy and functional is gonna last the long haul.
So here are my picks for Fall Winter 2012! What are yours?
