This Fall, the butterflies have invaded the house of Valentino in a big way with the Camubutterfly collection.
Piecing together different species of butterflies to create a magnificent pattern, designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have given a well-worn trend like the camouflage a new spin. The featured items almost seem to blend into the kaleidoscopic background.
What I like most about the print is that the butterflies are not overtly colourful. It’s feminine and sweet with a touch of melancholia.
My favourite from the collection would be the silk scarf. When worn with an all black ensemble, it’s like having a thousand of these insects fluttering to your every step. I mean why have butterflies in your stomach when you can wear them on your collar or on your feet right?
